Travis Fain, WRAL – Legislation to require North Carolina doctors who prescribe opioids to also prescribe an overdose reversal drug moved forward at the statehouse Wednesday. House Bill 93 would have doctors automatically prescribe Nalaxone whenever they prescribe an opioid that’s equivalent to 50 or more milligrams of morphine a day.
