Public hearings set for next week on new NC election maps
Travis Fain & Laura Leslie, WRAL — North Carolina lawmakers will hold public hearings early next week on legislative and congressional district maps they’ve been drawing in the once-a-decade redistricting process, and legislative leaders said to expect final maps sometime next month. The plan is to hold joint hearings Monday and Tuesday between the House and the Senate, based in Raleigh but with virtual options and satellite locations around the state beaming comments back. Proposed maps will be available for review, although as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, no House maps had been posted yet.
