Senate sets Election Day deadline in NC for mailed ballots
Matthew Burns, WRAL — The state Senate approved a series of changes to North Carolina election laws on Wednesday, including moving up the deadline for mailed absentee ballots to be considered valid. Under Senate Bill 326, dubbed the Election Day Integrity Act, all absentee ballots must be received by the time polls close on Election Day to count. Currently, ballots can arrive up to three days late, as long as they are postmarked by Election Day.
